Legendary for establishing new levels of performance, and for retaining the number one position for the past two decades in the class it created. Fast forward to today. Total commitment and tireless effort give birth to a new generation perfectly poised to carry riders into the future. Its riding experience features even stronger power delivery and nimbler handling, a collection of the latest electronic systems designed to optimise performance and make the Hayabusa 25th Anniversary more controllable and predictable. All this wrapped in a package that will instantly turn heads with its breathtaking style.

The fastest accelerating Hayabusa ever

The Hayabusa 25th Anniversary’s 1,340cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine achieves an even better balance of overall performance, with greater efficiency and durability, while also satisfying Euro 5 emissions standards.

Inheriting the legacy of the Ultimate Sports Bike that established the category in 1999, the Hayabusa continues to deliver some of the highest torque and power at engine speeds typically used while road riding. A symbol of engineering pride and prowess, it is built to deliver the ultimate riding experience for the long run.

Hayabusa 25th anniversary

The most perfectly poised Hayabusa ever

At the core of this outstanding chassis is the Hayabusa’s aluminium frame and swingarm. A proven combination of extruded aluminium sections and aluminium castings lend the right amount of suppleness and strength to the overall rigid alloy frame structure. While more costly and demanding to fabricate, extruded aluminium sections achieve the overall balance required by a machine that delivers ultimate performance and reaches a nominal top speed of 186mph. The Hayabusa’s chassis is designed to empower you with sure footing, sharp handling and predictable control that combine to build confidence and enhance the riding experience. With its 50:50 weight distribution it effectively transfers the abundant power of its legendary powerplant to the road.

The very best Brembo Stylema brakes

The Hayabusa uses Brembo’s latest Stylema® front brake calipers. Featuring a lighter, more compact and carefully sculpted design intended for use on high-performance motorcycles, these calipers increase airflow around the brake pads to cool more quickly and deliver immediate response. These are paired with front discs with a diameter of 320mm and featuring a hole pattern that helps optimise cooling efficiency.

A new lighter chassis, ready for action

KYB inverted cartridge forks provide 120mm of front wheel travel and feature Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the 43mm inner fork tubes to reduce friction and improve reaction to small irregularities in the road surface. Spring preload, compression damping and rebound damping are all fully adjustable. The internal structure has been upgraded to better absorb the road surface and ensure an even smoother, more stable ride with optimum grip. The internal structure of the fully adjustable KYB link-type rear suspension is also revised to maximise comfort and straight-line stability.

Perfect control and excellent rider comfort

Mounting the handlebars 12mm closer to the rider vastly improves comfort and reduces fatigue, particularly when touring or taking long rides. It also enhances handling when enjoying a sporty ride by giving the rider better feedback on how well the front tyre is gripping the road, by better supporting the rider’s posture to improve stability when braking, and by offering the rider greater freedom in movement to control cornering.

The Hayabusa’s bespoke new tyres

Suzuki worked closely with Bridgestone to develop the new BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 tyres to meet the needs of the new Hayabusa. The tyres boast improved dry grip, better performance in wet conditions, greater all-round traction and agility, while retaining a great level of durability. Featuring a new compound and construction, the marked difference these tyres demonstrate in straight-line stability and cornering grip offers every rider a more exciting and confidence-building experience. The tyres are mounted on new 7-spoke wheels that not only look great, but also help improve grip feel too.

The Hayabusa 25th Anniversary’s advanced electronics package

Hayabusa adopts an advanced new version of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) and a six axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). A complete collection of electronic systems designed to optimise performance characteristics to match the needs of the moment and make the Hayabusa more controllable, predictable and enjoyable. Riders can opt for settings that best suit riding conditions, road surfaces and their level of confidence and experience.

Three riding modes to choose from

Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α) groups together five advanced electronic control systems while enabling riders to select individual settings for each. It optimises performance characteristics and behaviour to best suit varying road surfaces, riding conditions and preferred riding styles. Experiment with the different settings and benefit from the feedback each offers to hone your riding skills and build greater confidence while enjoying the ultimate riding experience. In addition to three factory pre-sets (A: Active, B: Basic, and C: Comfort), SDMS-α offers a choice between three user-defined groups of settings (U1, U2, U3). Modes and settings can be changed using switches on the left handlebar and the current settings are displayed on the colour TFT panel.

Cruise control for those longer journeys

Cruise control reduces fatigue on long rides by allowing the rider to maintain a set speed without operating the throttle. The setting appears on the colour TFT display and the speed can be easily adjusted upward or downward using the select switch (plus or minus) on the left handlebar. Cruise control can be set from 19mph to 124mph while riding at 2,000 to 7,000 rpm in second gear or higher. The handy resume function re-engages the system and accelerates to the most recent speed setting after cancelling.

Advanced, lean angle sensitive ABS

The system combines vehicle posture data from the IMU with front and rear wheel speed sensor data to allow ABS1 activation in a straight line but also when leaning into a corner. The bike is therefore less likely to try to push itself upright or lose traction, instead maintaining its radius and lean angle to better trace your intended line through the corner. The system also uses combined brakes so operating the front brake lever provides braking power to the both front and rear brakes to support more confident and effective braking.

Note: ABS1 is not designed to shorten the braking distance. Please always ride at a safe speed for road and weather conditions, including while cornering.

10-mode traction control developed in MotoGP

This technology is adopted directly from the traction control system Suzuki developed for the GSX-RR in MotoGP racing. This takes traction control to a new level by employing data from the IMU to constantly monitor the amount of lean angle and effectively limit slip in corners as well as on straights. It provides greater stability at all times, enabling confident control in varying riding conditions while reducing stress and fatigue. The system offers a choice of 10 mode settings, and it can be turned off when preferred. The higher number the mode, the faster traction control is engaged and the more proactive the system is in limiting wheel spin.

Up and down clutchless quickshifter

Shift up or down more quickly and easily without the need to operate the clutch or throttle. Quick Shift offers two modes. Mode 1 reacts more quickly to replicate a racing style response, while Mode 2 offers a lighter touch. To ensure smooth shift action when using Quick Shift, the ECM retards ignition when accelerating or maintaining steady speed and opens the throttle valve when decelerating. Performance of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) ensures even smoother down shifts too, as well as providing a lighter clutch lever feel.

Independent power mode selection

Select between three different engine output modes that control power delivery to match road and riding conditions. Mode 1 provides the sharpest throttle response and delivers maximum power. It’s an ideal choice for the experienced rider out for a sporty ride. Mode 2 provides softer throttle response and more linear power delivery, making it a practical mode for casual daily rides. Mode 3 provides the softest throttle response and features a more gentle power curve with reduced maximum output, it’s well suited to riding on wet or slippery roads, or while still getting used to the potential of the Ultimate Sports Bike.

Hayabusa 25th anniversary

Adjustable anti-wheelie control

Adds reassurance to riders by helping prevent the front wheel from lifting off the ground when accelerating. The rider can choose from 10 modes, or turn the system off. The higher the setting, the greater the amount of control supplied. When in mode 10, for example, it is virtually impossible to lift the front wheel, even with a passenger on the back and the throttle wide open.

Customisable engine braking on the new Hayabusa 25th Anniversary

With three modes and an OFF setting, this system provides control over the effective strength of engine braking to match the rider’s preference. The higher the setting, the more the system provides the rider with smoother, more controllable behaviour by cancelling out the effect of engine braking to suppress rear tyre sliding or skipping when decelerating after releasing the throttle grip or downshifting.

Handy hill braking assistance

Hill Hold Control is designed to automatically engage the rear brake for 30 seconds after coming to a stop while facing uphill on an incline, even when you release the brake lever or pedal.

This helps ensure a smother restart free of worries that the bike will roll backward. The system is disengaged either by quickly squeezing the front brake lever twice, or by accelerating to pull away from a standing start.

Hayabusa 25th anniversary

Descent control assistance

Prevents rear wheel lift when braking while travelling downhill. The ABS unit uses input from the IMU to monitor the bike’s posture and, when the rider applies the brakes, the ABS’s hydraulic unit controls brake pressure to deliver the optimum setting to match the angle of inclination. Because it continually adjusts the amount of rear lift control to match the current angle of the slope, the system helps provide more stable braking.

Drag race like a pro with the Hayabusa 25th Anniversary

Turn the throttle and experience a thrilling launch and acceleration like a racer leaving the starting line. A selection of three mode settings let you match the engine speed at launch to your level of experience or confidence. Mode 1 limits engine speed on launch to 4,000 rpm, Mode 2 operates at 6,000 rpm, and Mode 3 is the fastest mode and operates at 8,000 rpm.

Ultimate aerodynamics and styling

Aerodynamic performance is critically important on a motorcycle capable of reaching a top speed of 186mph. Extensive wind tunnel testing, full use of the latest Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and years of experience all contribute to achieving refined styling with which the rider and bike become one wind-cutting missile. The Hayabusa features one of the best drag coefficients found on any street legal motorcycle, while also achieving excellent Coefficient of Aerodynamic Drag (CdA) and lift values to maximise top speed potential and stability at top speed. By any measure, Ultimate Performance is what the Hayabusa is all about.

Hayabusa 25th anniversary

Part of an incredible legacy

After the launch of the original in 1999, the Hayabusa’s striking aerodynamic silhouette has become instantly recognisable; nothing looks quite like a Hayabusa. And 21 years on, still nothing looks quite like a Hayabusa. Still low, long, and wide, the new generation has faithfully inherited the DNA of its predecessors, but with sharper lines and a tough, modern look that oozes refinement, class, and Ultimate Performance, it has been brought firmly into the present and future-proofed for the road ahead.

Distinctive Hayabusa 25th Anniversary attributes

The sleek silhouette is unmistakably that of the Hayabusa. But the modern look of its styling and luxurious attention to the finest details say it’s a whole lot more. True to its design concept the new Hayabusa’s long, low stance screams of the power, performance and poise. With an upswept tail and mufflers lending to the aggressive stance of its mass-forward image, this Hayabusa appears to be poised and ready to take flight on an exciting ride.

Loveable pedigree with the latest tech

Riders love the timeless layout, look and functionality of the Hayabusa’s instrument cluster. Now it benefits from the latest enhancements without losing any Hayabusa character or charm. Bigger, bolder numbering on the analogue tachometer and speedometer improve visibility, as does the backlit raised scale markings around the periphery. The jewel in the crown is the new colour TFT display mounted in the centre. In addition to the current SDMS-α systems settings, it features an active data display that enhances the ride by offering a bird’s-eye view of the bike’s current operating status. This includes real-time display of the lean angle, front and rear brake pressure, rate of acceleration and throttle position.

Futuristic and functional LED lights integrated

The Hayabusa 25th Anniversary has vertically stacked low beam and high beam headlights, which are a full LED design. The distinctive signature of their lighting pattern provides clear illumination at night and makes the Hayabusa highly visible too. This area also includes fine details like the Japanese character for Hayabusa, these luxury touches can be found throughout the new Hayabusa’s design. LED position lights with integrated indicators, neatly flank the outer edges of the large SRAD air intakes, for a compact, sleek and modern look. At the rear, a bold LED taillight and rear indicator design creates a single wide, sharp accent running horizontally across the bottom of the tail section.
