Welcome to John W Groombridge Motorcycles

The John W Groombridge Motorcycles site at Cross in Hand has been a landmark on the A267 Eastbourne to Tunbridge Wells road since 1951 and has been official Yamaha and Suzuki dealers since 1963. Since the new owners took over from the Groombridge family in 2006, there has been a programme of change in order to offer customers from far and near a one-stop shop for eveything they could want for their bike and for themselves to wear, but without losing the friendly feel of being a small business with many loyal customers who come in again and again.

2009 saw the opening of a new two-storey building to house the Suzuki showroom and workshop on the ground floor with a massive Clothing and Helmet showroom above where all shapes and sizes are catered for as well as a dedicated section for the Lady Rider. Key brands on display include AGV, Alpinestars, Bell, BKS, Buffalo, Caberg, Duchinni, Draggin Jeans, Forcefield, Frank Thomas, Ixon, Red Route, RST, Sidi, Shark, Shoei, Spada and Wolf.

The developments continue: 2010 has seen the addition of a third franchise, Kawasaki. The NEW Kawasaki showroom is NOW OPEN and is the ONLY Kawasaki showroom in East Sussex and also covers West Kent. Other developments have included some remodelling of the original building into a modern MOT testing station and Tyre fitting bay to increase capacity for these tasks on a while you wait basis: plus another 'State of the art' workshop.

Our service operation boasts technicians with a wealth of experience on all major brands and they keep up to date through manufacturer sponsored training to learn the latest techniques and requirements to keep all models running to perfection. Whilst we aim to offer a warm welcome to all our customers visiting us in person, if required, we offer Free Collection for all workshop jobs from all addresses with a TN or BN postcode, or a courtesy bike.

Taking over the former Helmet and Clothing showroom area above the Yamaha showroom, we have expanded our luggage display to offer Givi and Cargo as well as Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki luggage and have created a self-service area for a wide range of Accessories from Motrax and Oxford Products plus a range of oils and cleaning materials in order that our parts department are free to assist in serving customers requiring parts, be it for a current model or a vintage one.

If you have difficulty in visiting us in person, we can take orders by telephone and this web site has an interactive online shop where with a few clicks you can have a whole host of items delivered to your door. The site is fully secure to ensure that your payment is kept totally safe.
